About Trayarunya Foundation
A trusted 501(c)(3) nonprofit empowering communities since 2017
Our Mission
"To empower the underprivileged with the tools for sustainable self-reliance, nurturing communities with care, education, and opportunity."
At Trayarunya Foundation, we believe in the power of unity to forge paths out of adversity. We envision a world where every individual—regardless of their circumstances—has the means to craft their own destiny and contribute meaningfully to society.
Our Core Values
Our Journey
From Portland to the World
Established in December 2017 in Portland, Oregon, Trayarunya Foundation (formerly Populous Education Foundation) began with a simple yet powerful vision: to bridge the gap between abundance and need. What started as a local initiative to support homeless youth has grown into an international organization serving communities across the United States, Canada, and India.
Why We Exist
In America today, 1 in 8 families struggle with food insecurity. Millions of children lack access to quality education. Veterans return home to find inadequate mental health support. We exist to fill these gaps—not with handouts, but with sustainable solutions that restore dignity and create pathways to self-sufficiency.
What Makes Us Different
Unlike many nonprofits, 100% of public donations go directly to our programs. Our administrative costs are covered by founding donors and grants. We maintain complete financial transparency with quarterly reports and annual audits, ensuring every dollar you give creates maximum impact.
